Julia Computing Selected as Finalist for MIT Sloan CIO Symposium’s Innovation Showcase

10 May 2022 | JuliaHub

Cambridge, MA – Julia Computing has been selected as one of ten finalists for the 2022 MIT Sloan CIO Symposium Innovation Showcase, which will be held on May 22-23 at MIT. The Innovation Showcase recognizes the role of Julia Computing’s flagship JuliaHub product in helping enterprises large and small dramatically increase computing speeds, lower computing costs and improve the quality and complexity of their models and other scientific and numerical computing applications.

Many of the world’s most creative and influential IT executives will have the opportunity to meet the co-creators and other key developers of Julia and JuliaHub at the Innovation Showcase.

Julia co-creator and Julia Computing CEO and co-founder Dr. Viral Shah says, “We are honored that the MIT Sloan CIO Symposium has recognized how Julia and JuliaHub are revolutionizing modeling and simulation, helping companies achieve 1,000x increases in speed and corresponding reductions in computing expenditure in fields as diverse as finance, energy, pharmaceuticals and many, many more.”

JuliaHub is the fastest, simplest, most powerful and most cost-effective code-to-cloud platform for high performance computing.

“We are honored to recognize these finalists for the 2022 Innovation Showcase,” said Anton Teodorescu, Chair of the Innovation Showcase. “Opportunities abound for these early-stage companies to form valuable partnerships with CIOs at the Symposium as their innovative technologies can help shape the future of business.”

The Innovation Showcase will take place beginning at 4:30 pm EDT US at MIT’s Samberg Conference Center on Sunday May 22, 2022. The full agenda for the MIT Sloan CIO Symposium, First Hybrid Edition is available here and tickets are available for purchase here.

About Julia and Julia Computing

Julia Computing's mission is to develop products that bring Julia's superpowers to its customers. Julia Computing's flagship product is JuliaHub, a secure, software-as-a-service platform for developing Julia programs, deploying them, and scaling to thousands of nodes. It provides the power of a supercomputer at the fingertips of every data scientist and engineer. In addition to data science workflows, JuliaHub also provides access to cutting-edge products such as Pumas for pharmaceutical modeling and simulation, JuliaSim for multi-physics modeling and simulation, and Cedar for electronic circuit simulation, combining traditional simulation with modern SciML approaches.

Julia is the fastest high performance open source computing language for data, analytics, algorithmic trading, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and other scientific and numeric computing applications. Julia solves the two language problem by combining the ease of use of Python and R with the speed of C++. Julia provides parallel computing capabilities out of the box and unlimited scalability with minimal effort. Julia has been downloaded by users at more than 10,000 companies and is used at more than 1,500 universities. Julia co-creators are the winners of the 2019 James H. Wilkinson Prize for Numerical Software and the 2019 Sidney Fernbach Award. Julia has run at petascale on 650,000 cores with 1.3 million threads to analyze over 56 terabytes of data using Cori, one of the ten largest and most powerful supercomputers in the world.

About the MIT Sloan CIO Symposium

The MIT Sloan CIO Symposium is the premier global conference for CIOs and digital business executives to become more effective leaders. In one day, CIOs and senior IT executives explore enterprise technology innovations, business practices and receive actionable information that enables them to meet the challenges of today and the future. The Symposium offers a unique learning environment by bringing together the academic thought leadership of MIT with the in-the-trenches experience of leading, global CIOs and industry experts. The MIT Sloan CIO Symposium is organized and developed by the MIT Sloan Boston Alumni Association, the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy (IDE), and the MIT Sloan Center for Information Systems Research (CISR).
